Uniform Standard:
Girls
- Bottoms: navy, tan, or black pants, skirts, skorts, shorts (seasonally) or jumpers.
- Tops: collared solid colored of choice sleeved blouse, button down or polo-style shirt. (Freshman girls may wear stripped polo type shirts)
Boys
- Bottoms: navy, tan, or black pants or shorts (seasonally).
- Tops: Polo-style or collared button down sleeved shirts of any solid color. (Freshman boys may wear stripped polo type shirts)
All
- Solid colored sweaters or sweatshirts (seasonally).
- Socks required.
- Sandals seasonally acceptable in classroom but must be strapped (no strapless).
- If a school T-shirt or sweatshirt is designed and sold, it can be worn in place of uniform shirts.
RHPCS Dress Code Guidelines:
- Students should have a neat, clean, and well groomed appearance.
- Clothing should not be ripped, torn, shredded or have obvious holes.
- Visible tattoos are not acceptable.
- Unnatural hair coloring or excessive spiking (i.e. punk) is not acceptable.
- Students will be allowed to wear a maximum of one pair of earrings. No other pierced jewelry is allowed for boys or girls.
- Clothing should be as well fitted as reasonably possible (i.e. no skin tight, see-through or over revealing tops or bottoms of any nature).
- Skirts, dresses, skorts and shorts must fall at least the length of dangling fingertips (mid-thigh).
- Midriffs, tube tops, halter tops, spaghetti straps, net tops, plunging necklines or other tops that may reveal abdomen or excessively reveal the chest or underarm area, are not to be worn.
- Underwear or under garments are not to be visible on either the upper or lower parts of the body.
- Pants are to be worn at the natural waist level (no sagging pants).
- Shoe heels should not exceed two inches for safety reasons. Sandals are acceptable for the classroom, weather permitting. Closed toed shoes are required for outside play and physical education, with tennis shoes being recommended.
- No "skate shoes" allowed.
- No hats, hoods, scarves or non-religious head coverings of any kind are allowed to be worn while inside the school buildings. However, hats, visors or other acceptable head coverings will be allowed outside to protect from the cold and the sun.
- Makeup such as lipstick, rouge and eye makeup is not acceptable. (Freshman girls may wear light makeup)
- Clothing or any item brought to school such as outer wear, back packs, lunch boxes, notebooks, jewelry and hair pieces may not have any insignias, patterns, graphics, writing or messages that are obscene or relating to drugs, alcohol, tobacco, any illegal activity or any sexual innuendos.
- Gang attire of any kind is strictly prohibited. This includes but is not limited to garments that are suggestive, colors, bandanas or belts that have gang symbols or innuendos on them.
- Any attire, grooming habit or possession that disrupts the educational atmosphere will not be allowed.
- Special days that would not adhere to certain portions of this dress code may be allowed with the permission of the school administrator and announced in advance.
- The school administrator holds the right to determine if any apparel, jewelry, hair or other item is not appropriate for the Rolling Hills Public Charter School.
